Bringing together an eclectic line-up of innovators and key players in fields ranging from digital retail luxury, online advertising, to internet art and digital education, the first-ever Internet Week Europe today announced a preliminary schedule of events of nearly 50 events celebrating Europe's internet industry and community.
The weeklong festival of events will take place in venues throughout the city of London, from trendy Shoreditch to chic Knightsbridge.
Organisations presenting events during the festival currently include: flagship sponsor Yahoo!, Creative Review, New Media Age, News International, Penguin, IAB, Last Exit, Mediabistro, Music 4.5, Hyper Island, Poke, Ravensbourne College, Results International, Mother, Saint, and Tech Hub.
Additional partners, including Google, the BBC, Channel 4, the Guardian, moo.com, Tweetdeck and Aol will be included in a full schedule announced in late October.
"Internet Week Europe will be a celebration of the energy, diversity, and creativity representative of Europe and the Internet," commented David-Michel Davies, co-chairman of Internet Week Europe and New York.
"The weeklong festival provides a unique opportunity for business opportunities, making new connections and for internet and digital media professionals all across Europe to meet and share.
We are excited to see the schedule filling up so quickly with some great events, and more being added on a weekly basis."
